On Friday, January 27th, 2017, school administration was informed of an incident that took place on Wednesday, January 25th, 2017 around 3:00-3:15 p.m. While walking home, two students were approached by a male driving a white four door car and were offered a ride home. The students involved rejected the offer and the car continued driving. School administration contacted local law enforcement promptly after receiving this information on Friday, January 27th, 2017. Staff and students were provided with pertinent information and were reminded to be aware of their surroundings, report suspicious people or vehicles to an adult, and to never accept a ride from someone other than the designated person who picks them up.
Glen Oaks School and North Palos School District 117 do not take safety matters lightly. As always, school safety is a collective effort by all to be aware and report any type of suspicious activity to school personnel or local law enforcement.
