Kids Run Twice a Week After School with Friends and Teachers
Women To Be Extra Aware in Parking Lots
To the Members of the North Palos District 117 Learning Community:
I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to North Palos School District 117. For those parents/guardians whose children are entering the district's schools for the first time, I want to extend to you a special welcome and heartfelt thank you for the trust you have placed in us.
For parents/guardians whose children are returning to one of the district's schools, please know that the same care and commitment we have shown to your children in the past will continue in the future as we move forward in what we are confident will be another amazing and successful school year.
As a parent of a school-aged child, I can attest to the feeling you get knowing that your child is in a safe environment surrounded by caring teachers and staff who challenge them academically but who also provide them with the nurturing every child needs.
For generations, North Palos SD 117 schools have served as the educational beacon to students across our communities, as well as working closely with our cities and villages to help make them such great places to live and raise families.
As superintendent, I am thrilled to be part of a district where traditions are held in such high regard, and where keeping current with best teaching and learning practices is valued. All of this ensures that each and every one of our 3,300 students receives the resources necessary to be successful as a lifelong learner.
I look forward to another exciting year of outstanding achievement and growth.
As an aside, we have been busy with a multi-year, multi-million-dollar renovation project at Conrady Junior High School. This summer, we began work to remove the mobile classrooms, add eight classrooms, renovate nine existing classrooms, renovate six science labs and two art classrooms and are constructing a new office adjacent to a secured new entrance.
I apologize for any disruption this may cause, but I sincerely want you to know that the finished product will be amazing and will continue allowing us to serve as the educational beacon that has become synonymous with North Palos SD 117.
Yours in education,
Jeannie Stachowiak, Ed.D.
